Brief Description:  PREP VERETICAL STAB FOR PRIMING /PRIMED

(1) Disassembled vertical stabilizer and performed the deburr and polishing proceedures in prep for priming.
(2) Primed all parts except inside of stab skins, and stiffeners.

AN OOPS- when I took the vertical stab apart for deburring, I noticed that I had inadvertantly drilled the lower part of the rear spar (The top holes on the stiffener, and on throught the spar) from the front side of the spar, and then again on the back side. The result was that I had drilled eight #30 holes across the width of the rear spar where the top of the stiffener ends.

My intention is to build a sound aircraft, and even if a fix was possible, I could not conciously fly that machine knowing that there might be a weak spot in the vertical stabilizer spar. With no question, I ordered a new rear spar from Rans. If I have to replace every part in the airplane, its going to be correct. (So far, this is the first, and with care, the last I'll have to replace)
